Simulators
For our
trainings, we use advanced simulators and Flight Navigation Procedure Trainers.
At our location Hangelar two Level A simulators of the types Eurocopter EC135
and Eurocopter EC145 available.
The simulators
have a field of view of 210° horizontally and 60° vertically. The vertical
field of view is divided into 20° upwards and 40° downwards. The system is
based on ten high-performance projectors, which are arranged in two rows of
five. This projector system allows to simulate all possible weather-, lighting-
and viewing-conditions in a realistic way. Besides, NVG-flights (night vision
googles) are possible, too.
The spherical domes, which house the simulators have a diameter of about
7 meters and move in six degrees of freedom. The drive is adjustable with six
electrical linear actuators, that are each supported by three points.
This makes the
motion system tot he highest certification category, thus allowing flight
simulations which are not realizable with a real helicopter for safety reasons.
Simulators are
cheaper in comparison to Helicopters, but there are many reason more why the
use of Simulators are beneficial for training:
